On 1 March 2022 I embarked on a new direction in my Winemaking career and set about personally sourcing/blending and bottling wines at source under a label dedicated to our three children Robert, Lloyd and Nadine.

Limited 2024 Vintage – Only 3200 Bottles and 50 Magnums 1,5 ltr

The grapes for the 2024 FAMILY SYRAH came from a single Syrah Vineyard on Middelvlei Estate in Stellenbosch

The grapes were hand picked and handcrafted using natural yeasts and a whole bunch retention of 50%.Punch downs were done by hand during a two week fermentation period, after which the wine was aged in 10 year old 228 ltr barrels

I am very pleased with the result in my pursuit of spice, mouthfeel and texture and with excitement we offer you this limited bottling of the 2024 FAMILY SYRAH by KEVIN ARNOLD

  • The Family Syrah by Kevin Arnold 2023 Stellenbosch Ex-Waterford supremo Kevin Arnold was one of the pioneers of Syrah in South Africa, so it's no surprise that the first release of The Family Red is so impressive. Combining grapes from three Stellenbosch sources - Langverwacht, Middelvlei and Reyneke - it has some subtle clove and tobacco leaf notes from 15% whole bunches and a palate of pepper, blackberry and red cherry framed by savoury tannins. 2025-33.
